I graduated as an ITEC-qualified massage therapist in 2015 after 3 years of study, and I continue developing my practice with ongoing training, workshops and research. I practice a holistic approach, informed by Deep-Tissue Massage, Trigger-Point Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Bio-Energetic Healing, Reflexology, Mindfulness and Compassionate Touch. I work professionally and ethically within an integral therapeutic framework and as a full member of the Complementary Medical Association and the Federation of Holistic Therapists. The holistic massage therapy I provide is based on a practical understanding of anatomy and physiology and the body-mind connection.
Every session begins with a consultation so that we can develop the treatment that is most suitable for you. Massage is scientifically proven to speed recovery time after sports and injury, soothe pain, enhance sleep, elevate mood and decrease anxiety and stress with long-lasting effects after each session. I apply massage techniques with mindfulness of information that I receive from your body via kinaesthetic empathy. I am trained in therapeutic listening skills if you feel you would like to talk in the session in relation to your body, otherwise, you may wish to be silent.
I provide personalised treatments. Whether you live an active or sedentary lifestyle, massage can help to support your journey of health and well-being. Furthermore, I am currently developing a specialism in supporting clients who are working on trauma in counselling and psychotherapy and advised by their practitioner to receive massage for complementary healing. Touch can be a deeply supportive quality to assist emotional and neurological healing.
Therapeutic massage seems to be beneficial for gently transforming some of the deepest pain that human beings can carry i.e. trauma. I believe that massage supports the physiological integration of 'feeling safe in the body'. The process of receiving a good quality massage can calm the autonomic nervous system through polyvagal toning. This can be life-changing for some clients and can have positive effects on immunity, energy levels, confidence and self-esteem and even reverse some stress-induced physical ailments.
Massage is suitable for improving nearly all minor and critical health conditions and has been practised since ancient times as a preventative and remedial medical treatment. I am trusted by my fellow clinicians and client base to provide compassionate and therapeutic massage treatments that are not only good for the body but good for the soul too. All my work is confidential, clinically supervised and follows a strict code of conduct and professional practice.
