Your Privacy & Confidentiality
Your Trust Matters
Everything you share in therapy is private and protected. Below is a summary of how I protect your information. For a full detailed policy (including technical specifics), click here.
Confidentiality: The Basics
✅ Your sessions are confidential – Nothing you say will be shared outside our work, except in these situations:
If I’m worried about your safety (e.g., risk of serious harm to you or others).
If required by law (e.g., court order, safeguarding concerns).
I’ll always try to discuss it with you first unless doing so could increase risk.
How I Protect Your Data
🔒 Secure notes: Brief session summaries (to support your care) are stored anonymously and encrypted.
🔒 Supervision: I discuss cases anonymously with my supervisor to ensure I’m supporting you well.
🔒 Emergency plan: If I’m unexpectedly unable to work, a trusted colleague will contact you securely.
Technology & Privacy
I use GDPR-compliant tools with enhanced security:
Emails/Video calls: Google Workspace
Booking: Calendly
Payments: Stripe
Texts/calls: WhatsApp
You can request full privacy policies for any service.
Your Rights
📅 Records are kept for 5 years (as required by insurance), then securely deleted.
✂️ You can ask to delete your data anytime, unless legal reasons prevent it.
🎭 Case studies (for training/research) never include identifying details.
