Privacy Matters
Respecting your privacy is a key aspect of therapy. All services are strictly private and confidential.
I will always protect your confidentiality and would not reveal any of your identifying information unless there was a serious reason, such as a risk of harm to you or another, or if required by law, and this would hopefully be with your full knowledge if possible.
I am dedicated to safeguarding the personal information under my care and in developing a data protection regime that is effective, fit for purpose and demonstrates an understanding of, and appreciation for GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and good practitioner ethics.
I make session notes as a memory aid to ensure that I provide consistent care. Your session records are held safely and securely and limited to access by me only. Any specific files containing your personal details are password protected with a multi-factor authentication process.
As an ethical and professional requirement, I undergo clinical supervision for all my work. Your identity will remain anonymous and protected with the details of our work held in a professionally standard confidentiality agreement between my supervisor and me.
Some non-identifying information from your our work together may be used in case studies to contribute toward professional training and research. Identifying factors would be removed or fictionalised to protect your privacy.
I have a clinical will. This means that if anything happens to me to prevent me from contacting you during your therapy, my next of kin will inform my supervisor through a secure process that unlocks your personal contact details for my supervisor only to view and contact you. This process is held securely via the Clinical Will app. For more information, please read their privacy notice.
I use Google Workspace for all main communication and administrative purposes and have disabled information trawling from default settings and enhanced security to the maximum in order to protect data. Emails and online communications remain private and confidential and also this website is built using G sites, which means that contact forms, email subscriptions and website cookies are all stored securely by Google so this website can function. I have enabled advanced security suitable for health and social care professionals in Google Workspace, which means that my entire online database with Google Workspace is certified HIPAA and GDPR compliant. For more information please Google's privacy policy and Data Processing Addendum.
I only use software where data security is fully implemented and where their adherence to GDPR compliance is confirmed in their Terms and Conditions. In particular, I use Whereby and Meet for online sessions, please click their links if you would like to read their privacy policies.
Some messages and calls may take place via end-to-end encrypted calls via WhatsApp. For more information please view WhatsApp's privacy policy.
Appointment booking is held by Calendly. Calendly is a cloud application, which serves as a fully GDPR compliant appointment booking system. For more information please read their privacy policy.
If you choose to pay via Stripe, then your customer details will be handled securely by Stripe according to their privacy policy.
Marketing: Your personal details will not be sold to any external companies. Any email subscriptions and analytics data I collect will be used sensitively to ensure that you are up-to-date with my services, and you can opt-in or opt-out at any time.
I store records of our sessions for 5 years as required by my insurance provider. If you would like to request deletion or the removal of any of your data from my control, partially or entirely, I will be eager to comply, providing that there is no adverse reason (such as a legal reason) preventing me from doing so.
