Why Creative Supervision?
Supervision assists you to grow as a reflective practitioner, providing opportunities to learn and develop through facilitated self-reflection, learning and decision-making processes. Creativity also enables a non-verbal and embodied dimension to help unlock unconscious processes and increase conscious competence. Good-quality, creative supervision can help to shift stuck points, sparks new insights, and allow for lightness—even humour—when needed. It's key in supporting your well-being at work and preventing burnout and imposter syndrome by helping to discern and support your growing edges and support good practice for the benefit of yourself, your clients and colleagues.
My approach is neuro-affirming, humanistic and depth-oriented and integrates established supervision models (Hawkins’ 7-Eyed Model, Proctor’s Three-Function Model) with creative processes such as:
Metaphors & symbols – uncover deeper layers of meaning and illuminate different possibilities.
Writing & storytelling – develop coherent and nuanced ways of seeing complex dynamics.
Expressive play & visualisation – amplify themes, values and potentials in your work.
Together, we’ll explore:
Contextual and relational dynamics through evidence-based theoretical models.
Developing your ethical approach with humility, integrity, professional standards and sometimes innovation.
Practitioner well-being through careful monitoring, systemic awareness and support.
Deepening self-awareness in a way that feels enriching and permits greater relational depth in your work.
