Therapeutic groups are a form of communal healing i.e. healing (or enhancing wellness) in community. Communal healing is an ancient practice that's been around as long as human beings have gathered together in circles with the intention to share companionable support. Healing in community can be a very powerful experience as the care, compassion and insight is multiplied by everyone in attendance. Your authentic engagement and presence are not only a beneficial for you, but also for other people in the group.
Sessions begin with a welcome and reflective activities, followed by an optional sharing, then a further round of reflective activities. At the end, there will be an opportunity to explore how you’ll move forward into your life. Your vulnerabilities, strengths and limits are all welcome. Everything is optional, and simply sitting in the warm glow of a connected, accepting and encouraging group is part of the benefit of the experience.
Thinking of joining? For everyone's safety and well-being, everyone must attend an initial on-to-one screening interview to ensure that the therapeutic group will be a suitable setting for your well-being journey. If this isn't suitable, other resources may be suggested.
